Hi Everyone,
I just tried to get Coco to eat but she wont and she can no longer walk because she is to weak.
She looks very anemic to me also and her nose still has the green discharge no matter what I do.
KC has given me great advice but nothing seems ti help her.
I am so scared I will lose her this week.

Hello Jacky,

I read on the Cat Blogosphere that you were worried about losing your beloved cat, Coco. I am so sorry.
I lost my own beloved siamese cat Henry (1985 ~ 2004)a few years ago now, but I can still recall the pain of not wanting to let go of him when his health was failing. So I will send healing thoughts for you and Coco, and Milo and Alfie wil purrr.
I hope Coco can recover and have quality life, but I am sure when the time eventually comes, you will make the right decision for Coco. It is the final gift we give our fur babies.

We are purring hard and sending Light for Coco's *Highest Good*, whatever that might be. If it is her time, we pray for an end to her suffering and for a peaceful passing, because it's not about how long one lives, but the quality of life one has. Our mom knows how impossibly hard it is to deal with the loss of a four-legged soulmate, but part of life is learning to let go. We wish you and Coco a miracle, but if that is not meant to be, we wish for you to have the strength to let her go with dignity and grace. A UK breeder who used to be on one of our mom's Yahoo groups would always say, of letting them go, better a day too soon than a day too late.

Blessings and Peace.

Very sad news and so very hard to say goodbye when it's time. I am a vet tech and many years ago I remember going to a seminar on pet loss and grief, and what I learned there has helped me with my personal losses and also in counseling clients at work.

The speaker at this seminar said to think of when it's time to let go in this way:

Keep a journal, and when out of 7 days, when there are 4 good days and 3 bad days, let that be the sign to say goodbye. Don't wait until there are 4 bad days and only 3 good days.

Your 'journal' is your blog and your Coco is depending on you to make the best decisions for her, as she is unable to do this alone.

May her heart and your heart beat as one...

So sorry to hear Coco is not doing any better. I have a foster cat who was very anemic and was diagnosed with hemobartonella. Her PVC was 15, I had to force-feed her for a week. She also had a cold, so I borrowed a nebulizer chamber from a friend. The vet prescribed Doxycycline for the hemobart. She just started eating over the weekend. I pray Coco will start eating soon and become strong again. I hope the vet can figure out what is causing her to be so sick. Purrs to you as well. (((hugs)))

I'm so very sorry to hear about poor Coco. It brings back the terrible memories of when my Scampie left for the bridge. I had two weeks of non stop crying, watching my strong healthy baby fade away to nothing.

Finally we made the decision that *absolutely* the kindest thing to do would be to let her go where she wanted to go, to the bridge.

Amazingly, after she went, I felt calm, and although missing her terribly, my awful pain had gone away, and I realised that my pain was due to watching her feeling ill and rotten. Once she was out of pain, I REALLY felt so much better!

I hope this helps in some way, and I wrote a blogpage about losing a beloved pet, and I hope it helps you further?

I'm really feeling for you right now, and I hope that teh Cat Blogosphere can make your difficult time more bearable?

Hi there-

We came over because KC told us what was going on. We wanted to stop by and give you healing purrs and prayers.

Have you tried Nutrical? You can get it at a vet and it's basically vitamins for animals that aren't eating.

Have you done fluids? I don't know what you have or haven't done, but you can contact us via email:

FLOOFY MC FLUFFERSON AT GMAIL DOT COM and we could try to help. Mom's a vet tech and we would love to see if we have any other tricks we could help you get her to eat.

Sending ppuuurrrrrrs & purrrayers to Coco and her mom Jacky. Come on, Coco, eat something already. We're all purrrring for you.

If you are getting info from KC, you've probably already tried most of the things we could suggest. It might be time to think about trying to force feed her. Sometimes that will kick-start her, sometimes that is just extra discomfort at the end. You would have to decide on that.

But that was what helped one time for Allie. As a last ditch effort, The Food Source stuffed a few tiny pieces of chicken down her throat, and that started her eating again.

ppuurrrrrrrrr

Allus kitties and Mom am purring for Coco.

It may be too late, but you might go to your local health food store and get some natural herbs that help clean out the liver.

My mother's cat appropriately named "Kitty" was a small Russian Blue of unknown origin... just showed up one day with kittens as big as her. She had FIV. One of the things that helped her live to be 20 years old was that the Vet gave her cortisone every few months.

If your vet needs to talk to that vet, his name is Dr. Johnson and he is at Indian Hills Animal Clinic in Wichita Kansas. Email me and I'll get you his phone number.

Hi Coco's momma. If you can provide me with more information (email it to me) on Coco's condition (sorry I haven't been able to follow your blog) I may be able to make several recommendations to help Coco. From getting her to eat to getting rid of her green discharged (which is bacterial by the way, so you will want to be treating Coco for a bacteria infection).
